Guy wait till you drive the SX and test out its ABS... I can brake far better and faster without the ABS. The ABS on the SX is real crap especially when you have BEEEG brakes.

you guys can all say what you want about s13 abs - its totally up to shit. yes i had it work ok a few times, but the times when i needed it most...

i had to make a call to the cops and the insurance companies instead!

i say fail to s13 abs, but maybe my car had issues of its own??? only really experience the abs in my s13, no one elses, so ya.

Completely of topic here but i've heard a lot of poeple say that the S13 has really bad abs, is it the same with the S14 because i just to check it drove up to about a 100kph and hit the middle pedal as hard as i can and it stopped quite quickly and i stil had the ability to steer?

I heard from people that the S14's ABS is not that good in the wet.
Is that true?

its getting kinda pointless going over this over and over again, explaining why and what it is yadda yadda.. if you dont like it and feel it does nothing for you, take it out, if you think its worth keeping then keep it.

but please dont fool yourself by thinking that nissan engineers went to all the effort and immense expense of fitting a tailor-made abs system to a turbocharged sports coupe because it was pointless and useless.. besides the fact of course that they never expected you to modify the living daylights out of their finely balanced car

I think that has seriously got to be them truest statement ever, I mean, I never thought I would go as far out as I have so far, and some of you have done some sick mods too, no wonder your ABS not working as it should, ha ha ha

Is it possible though to have it re calibrated ? That would be an interesting one...

I'm fitting 350z discs and calipers, does that mean i will experience problems with the abs interfering with big brakes?

i am not running abs - my car is a street vehicle...

i have not had issue with braking and distance - touch wood...
i am comforable driving without abs in my car... but can't see the point of removing something if it does in fact work.

charl, rather have a poll of how many times the sx drivers have felt the abs kick in... suprisingly overwhelming few people we have spoken to says the abs has kicked in.

i also know where you are coming from - you have a top mount now - and the turbo is just that much closer to the distribution...

i think that heat in the bay is a bigger killer to the stopping power than the electronics themselves. having said this, i don't believe the electronics are still in perfect nick either - considering the deterioration of wires in turbo charged engine bays (esp after 16 - 20 years)
