im going to say this here because i guess somebody has to say it.. why bother with these vg30e/vg30et, when the vg30det (please read that very carefully.. DET meaning SINGLE turbo quadcams, NOT twin turbo quadcams) can be had for the same money??
it has been proven many times now that the wide block vg's do fit in the S13 chassis comfortably..
use it, dont use it..

Its intended for a 4X4 were u need the low down torque. But if u do a bit of reading on these older VG30E's and u will see that they are smaller, ligter than the DE and with a good port job and cams can flow the same as a DE head. Nissan even ran these blocks and single cam heads in their IMSA racers producing 600-900hp.300sx wrote:im going to say this here because i guess somebody has to say it.. why bother with these vg30e/vg30et, when the vg30det (please read that very carefully.. if u can get a vg30det for R4k ill have 2 please.lol they cant be that cheap can they?but buck for buck in parts availability and the cost id still go vg30et.if i do go de it must be the tt,id love one of those ....mmmmmm.but for a simple drop in in a bakkie the vg30et fits with the least hassels. ll parts for the et is vilable at the local spares shop. I just got my bakkie back yesterday after spending R500 on the auto elecrtiant to tell me my pump is bugerd, put in a new walbro at 1K onlto discoverd it will still not start changed coil nada.and sent it bak to auto showing them theres no spark only to discover a small plug was coroded below the battery .the bplu cost |R30 and R100bucks to fit i wanted to moor the auto.i was so kwaad, spening almost R1900 on a faulty plug .cars(bakkies) got to love and hate them lol
sideways forever....
I understand your point....but, I do not want to remove the engine when I need the turbo out, or work on the engine, there is loads more space, I did alot of research on this engine and it is going to cost me way less to make power on this engine than with a DET, not that I am out to make 900HP.300sx wrote:im going to say this here because i guess somebody has to say it.. why bother with these vg30e/vg30et, when the vg30det (please read that very carefully.. With my Z I was able to make 300HP with minimal mods and the standard turbo.....I figure....with proper injectors and turbo I will make close to 400HP without touching the heads or standard internals....spares on engine is cheap and availeble....
