Post by P3g4sus »

Hi every one!

Im doing research on my ECU and was wondering if you guys would recomend putting a dastec unichip on the standerd ECU or to buy a Dictator or such?

What would the pro`s and cons be with each?

I did it, still got the chip on my garage shelf if you are interested.
Draco had it on his previous sx and was happy with it.

Well you see, my fuel pump was stuffed and i took the car to dastek who said theyll sort out my prob by installing a unichip. Halfway thru this they found that the pump was faulty, i changed the pump after which they fitted the chip. The car pulled strong(135kw Dastek dyno) but i had nothing to measure it against. I removed it because i thought that it was making my car heavy on juice but in actual fact it was my blow off valve confusing my AFM.

Thx Draco!

Wel i have researched the nistune system as wel, but the only board is the type 1, Is that even any good? they say real time tuning?

Other than that, What do you guys suggest? Dictator? Gotech? EFI?

Im looking for big power gains on the CA18DET, and do not want to experience problems with the ECU.

And yes I am doing alot of mods on the motor.

Wil the dictator be able to run my Aircon? I want to keep that in the hot SA that we live in! And next, witch Dictator system is the best to use for the CA18DET ?!

Link G4 Plug in ecu.

www.linkecu.com

Just got one to run my ca18det. It replaces the stock circuit board and fits using the standard harness and connector.
It runs your aircon, can run maf or map and has incredible feautres for the price.

The only extra wires I've had to run are 8 wires for the additional inputs and outputs it gives you.

Oh yeah, and it works with the standard nissan sensors, cas etc.

Link ECU

S13Lnk CA18 or SR20 (72pin) 1680.00 NZD
Inlet Air Temp Sensor 14mm 84.00 NZD
IAT 14mm mount boss -Steel 22.00 NZD
Innovate LC1 Wideband O2 372.00 NZD
Shipping 140.22 NZD

Total 2298.22 NZD
In Rand R 12,624.23
Vat and taxes R 1,924.36

If you look at Rats build thread you'll see he budgeted R2500 for re-wiring, don't know if that includes new sensors and such, but that is a cost you can deduct if using the Link ecu since it uses all the standard wiring.

I bought the LC1 at the same time, coz it actually worked out cheaper than getting it from the US, and the Link has an autotune system using a wideband afr sensor.

I wired my xms through the std wiring, made an adapter so it fits into my std ecu plug as well. Still cost me less then R5000.

Does the linkecu utilize the knock sensor?
