if you plan to keep your current engine then nistune BUT to find someone to tune it also keeps all your std sensors

dicktator cheap and anyone can tune it but little loads sites to tune compared to the nistune system

Hey guys , me again.

This car is really baffling me. When it is cold it runs semi ok , and when the heat guage rises it holds back.

This morning , I left the gym and a couple of trucks were holding me up, so I decided immaterial of the miss , boot it ! 3rd all the way up to 8000 , 4th 8000 no miss ! Check heat guage , it is still cold. 5 minutes later , boot it in 3rd , it starts holding back , look at the heat guage , it's halfway.

Why the hell would the car run fine occasionally. Surely if there is a fault it should be constant !

What would be causing that ? I am also still convinced it is a fueling problem , but where do I start looking ?

It would be good if you can compare the afr between cold and warm. The fact that your car revs to 8000rpm worries me.

Breaking doesn't worry ,but the thing that does is the lack of a rev limiter before 8k.

It is a stock S13 , except for the 76 mm freeflow and air filter. It was maintained by the Agents up until 150 000 and the guy I bought it from had it up until 158 000 , so I don't know if he did anything. Judging by the semi mutalated Sabre he was driving , anything is possible.

I'm not sure where the rev limiter should be but if its gone there could be some after market chip attached to the ecu which could stuff up your fueling.

I can appreciate that , but the car was running perfectly up until about 3 weeks ago.

I think the best is going to be put it on a dyno and see if it is running lean or over fuelling or if it is losing spark.

what do you guys think ?
