Race Fuel

Post by 200SX-ZN »

When it comes to dyno tuning a car. Is there a power difference when you use 102 octane instead of normal pump fuel?

Im taking car for dyno tomorrow and planning on running race fuel.

What is your views?

There is a power benefit from 102 IF.
1: Your car is detonation prone
2: You raise the boost to suit the higher octane
3: You advance the timing to take advantage of the higher octane

Of course if you do 2 and 3 above you are pretty screwed if you go back to normal fuel unless you change maps.
