my other option is make a funnel that will fit in the opening from the bumper and direct the air thru a tube to a sealed box where the air filter well sit what you think guys

The latter option is alot more work but I would surely rather do that... honestly if a stone comes down the road and smacks the filter it will go to pieces if it is in the bumper...

too low - you will suck up water when it rains... don't know if you drive the car daily... it sounds this way...

also down there colder air but more dust

funnel and closed box - just as long as the funnel isn't restrictive and the box gets enough airflow.

ok so i put the filter back to old place and then i needed cold air in there so i came up with a temp plan till i have the whole weekend to play around

so here the front port it was ment to be a funnel on across the whole hole but i ran out of time so will build a better one this weekend

here the pipe just straight forward

and here where the air delivers to
Image

and the filter in and the air in theory sholu rush right in front of the filter and be like havving a hunters on a hot summer day*refreshing*

I would also close off the filter from the engine bay. This will keep them hot under bonnet air away too... Lookin good there bud... I would for airflow purposes ad a bell mouth to both ends so the air flows nicely...

make an exit vent for that "sealed" box.

a wise bunny i know keeps chooning me about pressure differences, and i usually dont listen, but i cant get that phrase out of my head anymore! it applies to everything!
