Clutch Slave Cylinder Help.. HELP! :)

Post by DriftZ »

Howzit

ok so i thought my Clutch fluid was being beamed up by Aliens... then i found out my Slave Cylinder has a sneaky leak.

Has anyone serviced their slave cylinder before? It looks like a straight forward operation, but where do i get the kit from... Midas? or is it going to be order from Nissan wait 2 weeks and pay 'Top Dollar" scenario??

If the piston seals are gone, then the kit is around R60 at midas. Where's it leaking?

Ja im guessing its the rubber seal attached to the back of the piston. But im a little worried about the actual piston and its contact area on the slave wall, as its not 100% smooth, it has a little patch of roughness.. but very little..?!

I didn't know it was such a simple thing to sort out, so I got my mech to do it hence the R60. Oh ja. Don't forget to bleed the clutch, the nipple is under the car somewhere by the gbox.

No, just bleed the bottom one. When you pumping the clutch, you will know if its taking.

dont just pump the bottom, man! a good pump always includes the top too :?:?:?

the top one is there for a reason, and its in a super-aukward place, which is designed to piss you off!

if you only bleed the botoom, you will probably leave air up at the top of that long vertical pipe (air likes to go up!) and will leave that clutch squishy!

BTW - did gary take that horrible clutch loop out for you???
