what turbo to buy

howzit guys. im am having touble registering in my own name so ill use my brthers for the maen time till i find out how to register but for the mean time i know this is a common question and i have done the read up on all the different turbos that have been put up on here but which one is most preferred mr turbo daily driving. i have seen the t28/t3 garret one from mr turo for R3900. would that be a good choice.

Byron if you really just want a daily drive....nothing impressive...just relieble 0.7 or 0.8 bar boost, that T28/T3 turbo to my opinion will do the job, it might do more....I am not aware of anyone here that tested what it could do, Drillergy I think purchased one but I am not sure if he installed it yet.

If you want something impressive....then you'll have to fork out the do...for a GT28RS BB turbo.

most cost effective and sensible turbo to buy would probably be the T28/T3 - you should be able to run about 1bar on a sr20 and maybe even 1.2bar on a CA18. I cannot comment as to how far you would be able to push it but if I replace my T3/T4 (which by the way is available and offers welcome

) is what I would fit to my SR20. It should spool nice and early and be able to handle a fair bit of boost without over spooling.

Running T28/T3 mrTurbo on a 1600 corsa at 1bar, comes on boost from 2000rpm and have full boost by 3000rpm. makes just shy of 150kw so it should be a good option for responsive turbo on ca18, might be small for the sr20

Sorry Just enjoying my Holiday so,I'm not very active on the forum.
The flow maps are normally supplied on the manufacturers website or via E-mail request to the manufacturer.

Also as stated on Rezlo's forum don't trust any supplier that says has garret internals or something on those lines because they are normally cheap Chinese turbo's just goggle XS power for great quality concerns.

I have seen one of these master power turbo's in action and wasn't really impressed

my personal take on this is that most of the guys cannot always spend over R10000 on a turbo. Most guys are looking around R3000 - R5000.

This is why these cheaper turbo chargers are so attractive. Personally I cannot afford to pay that for a turbo... I think if you have a really small budget to replace the turbo the mr turbo turbo chargers are your best bet. they might not be pretty but they are pretty cheap.

I saw a GT2871 on ebay which i think you can land for under R4000 at present rate. Will that work?
