What radiator to use with 7mgte in an S13

Post by Highboost »

Hey guys

How about some help, any ideas on what radiator to use with my 7mgte, in an s13???

Both water pipes are on the lefthand side of the motor ( thats standing in front of the car looking at the motor) I was thinking Golf MkII upside down????

Then I can run a cooler fan switch as well !!

I used an STI radiator on my car, it fits straight into the sx's brackets, just needed to extend the bottom water pipe to the other side with the fan switch in.

An aftermarket 3 core will be better, the STI is a 2 core, much better than the sx single core.

Import parts, turbo toys, turbo and nos....but in the end don't expect to pay what you would for a 2 core....

if you can weld aluminium then you can do nicely with a bmw 45mm core.

but the one i got, its a e36 radiator, is to wide. the rest of the dimensions are fine, but with the plastic overflow bottle incorporated into one of the side housings, its a bit too wide to fit the s13 chassis rails!

so i would remove the plastic side tanks, and weld in my own custom ones!
