Nissan makes two type of Gaskets one for the N/A CA18DE and one for the Turbo.
The turbo gaskets cost three times as much but I have never had a blow-out with them

Im running autozone specials @ R8 each on this motor and my other ca and they worked just fine. I was also thinking about doing the copper thing.

Also check if the manifold studs and bolts holding the manifold still tighten properly and that the holes and threads are not worn. The head could also be bent where the exhaust manifold bolts on, because of overheating.
