Turbo Seals Burnt

Hi guys I need some expert advice, is it possible that if you weld on a turbo that the seals can collapse when it comes under boost ?

What did you do?

Shouldn't you bolt that on??? :? :?

Hehe mate if you have the time one day you have to come have alook at what we had to do to make this turbo fit mate.
Firstly I had to modify the bracket for the wastegate because it didn't go with the way I had to turn the turbo to fit on to the manifold.

Secondly the down pipe flange did not fit on the turbo and I had to get a new flange made and on that the down pipe needed to be welded on, I DID NOT DO THIS MYSELF and without thinking the guy welded the pipe on without taking it off the turbo. :(

Then when I drove it the seal collapsed and the turbine is loose in the barrel of the turbo. This is what I think happened, I still have to confirm this by taking the turbo off AGAIN :twisted: :twisted:

Holy crap, that sounds like a mess.
