Update:

well, after being delayed by customs, finally received valves and springs.

head assmebled: +- 60hrs of work by hand + 24hrs on the cnc later the head is now ported and fitted with supertech S/S intake and inconel exhuast valves, Tomei valve springs and a pair of Tomei cam-shafts.

engine still on stand, waiting for branch to get back from powerkote.

will take some more pics over the weekend...

What size turbo are u using? I wana go single turbo on my RB26, but not sure whats the best size for good power and driveabilaty, thinking of T61 or T66.

Rudeboy how did you port your head with a cnc?? Did you write a program just for your head??

yea Gary, have a friend with a cnc that wrote a program to do a portion of the head work that would have been sh*t by hand, kinda like this:

p.s the cnc work had more to do with combustion chamber work and less with the actual porting....

more flow... (unshrouding the valves) - lower compression ratio at 8.6:1, that allows for more reliable high boost ( 2bar+) , should also allow more agressive timing, but i quess time will tell.

lotsa info available re this subject, but at the end of the day , you got to decide what you think will work for your application and how much of a risk you willing to take

should also enable us to "safely" add nitrous at a later stage
