Finally got around to fitting the 300zx brakes this week end. Only did the rears now as the std rears were finished anyways.
Now, bled the entire system but I'm getting a very spongy pedal that travels all the way to the bottom and the braking is very poor to say the least!!
What can be the problem? Did I maybe not bleed it properly? Maybe we can start with the bleeding sequence? I went with the furthest from the ABS pump to the nearest, so RR, RL, FR, FL.
Ok what gives!!!???

the bleeding sequence was right, but you also should bleed the abs unit!
and now for the kicker...
most people only install the fronts, and THEY say without the master cylinder the brake pedal travel and feel deteriorates slightly.
i'm guessing that with yours it must've got a lot worse?
nismo200sx's car isnt bad, but i reckon it (and probably yours) would benefit from the master cylinder upgrade too!

Well think I found the problem. This may not seem obvious but when installing the calipers the damn bleeding nipples should ALWAYS be on top. I fitted them at the bottom to ensure I don't spill brake fluid on the newly painted calipers during the bleeding process.
This however allows air to get trapped in the top of the calipers which won't bleed out.
Ps: How do you bleed the ABS unit??
And who has a link to information about which direction the slots should face?

Exactly the same thing happened to me but with the front calipers....was very dodgy with NO brakes ecept after 3 pumps of the pedal!!!Reconned the MC ,bought another MC and the "experts could still not tell me I fitted the calipers wrong way around!!Mine doesnt fell spongey and I lock the fronts still so I maybe think the intenet racers is pointing to pedal travel that increases a little bit .
