Hi guys, on my s13 std front brakes theres a metal plate that holds the brake disk in place, i think its called a ratlle plate or somthing. My front right is missing, any idea where i can get another. plz
It doesnt come with new brake pads as far as i know if some1 knows otherwise please fill me in. the agents will sell that plate but they want R800 for it.
i think they wanna charge you for the disk protector/dust plate around the rotor - these lil thingies shouldn't cost more than 20c - but ya i got them with pads
Ettiene are you talking about the plates that fit at the flat surface behind the pad?
or
the little shims that hold the tips of the brake pads on each end? The shim is the one that holds both pads at the top and bottom.
The flat plates behind the pad should come with a set of new brake pads. If it doesn't it's no big deal.
But the shims on the end hold the pad in in position.
Gary on the Z32 calipers it uses pins that go through the caliper and through holes in the pads. So it doesn't use the metal plate shims afaik. They do sell the pins seperately.
I think he is talking about the anti rattle plates that sit at either end of the pads (top and bottom).
Yes DocG,I made my own pins. The anti rattle plate the goes over the top of the pads is what I am missing, cross shaped thin plate. I am using silicone now, works 100%.
