It looks like the SR doesn't have any weight advantage over the CA... check out this thread... they mention that both engines weigh 95KG's bare....

yup.
with the aluminium block of the 2.0 litre, a lot more "meat" had to be added to keep it at required strength levels. or so i've read!

yip saw my bare block against Ero's bare block when his engine was being built... SR20 block looks much bigger also allot taller than the CA block, but its because it doesn't really have much of a sump, CA has that huge ugly sump.
