I got the s14 motor in my s13 200sx. Boost it 0.7 bar... for a month or so. Turbo still ok but internals start making lots of noise. Now I need new engine. So on stock internals I'll advice you to stick to 0.4bar boost, or you'll have to get better pistons, conrods and bearings for the engine.
interesting...

i thought the stock boost on the s14 was around 0.5-0.6 bar. perhaps your engine is making strange noises because of some other problems??? i've heard of sr20det's making good reliable horsepower with stock internals.

No, I'm sure it's because of too much boosting. Already got some advice on it. First thing you must do when raising the boost is to replace the pistons. They are too soft to handle the pressure.]

I'm sure they touch the turbo to get 400Hp...

You will push the Turbo right out of the efficacy range to push those numbers.
You might get away with stock internals and head and valves but then you tunning must be great and your balls big

Agree, I've read on SXOC the guys reaching 300hp, but then they have to do all kinds of funnies to reach it.
