CA18DET Feul Pressure Regulator Vacuum source?

Post by troopiec »

Hi guys, after alot of trouble shooting and 2x blown knock off FPR's i have installed a RB25 FPR to my CA18DET, the car is running well now and i am using just a vacuum nipple off my intake manifold but i see that the FPR used to get its vacuum source from a Solenoid valve or something, i see it had 3 nipples on the valve, one coming from the intake manifold, one coming from the turbo intake, and the other one goin to the FPR, when we tested my car we found that the vacuum line from that valve did nothing, even with new hoses.

So my question is how does that valve work exactly? do i urgently need to find another one or can i just keep running my FPR on the intake vacuum alone because alot of cars just run the FPR directly from the intake vacuum.

Thanks

That's the stock boost cut. Goes from intake to boost cut to fpr. Just bypass it by keeping it like you are running.

Hi Rat, so how does it work exactly? i would love to know, is it when the boost gets to a certain amount it opens the FPR or something so that no more feul goes in? Is it safe to just run the FPR off the Intake Vacuum then, and if i keep running it like this can i just block off all the vacuum lines connected to the Boost cut without it effecting the running of the engine? does the managment rely on it atall?

makes you run lean if boosting to high. Management runs fine as long as it is plugged in.

There's is vacuum nipple right on the intake near the fpr. I use that and bypassed that solenoid thing
