Sticky Brakes

Post by lloyd bradley »

Hi all,

I have recently bought myself a second hand S13 200sx. I seem to be having a problem with the brakes, after heavy breaking they stick and the brake peddle is really hard. All help would be appreciated, fairly blank on a few things.

Thanks.

Try to source a caliper seal kit, im not sure if they're available for the standard sliding calipers. I'd imagine so.

Also the standard brakes are really sh1t. I'm not sure on your definition of "heavy braking" but when mine where still standard it didn't take much at all to get mega brake fade and the "hard" pedal.

Have you changed your brake fuild? Strip the calipers and oil the slides as well and check the dust covers are still ok.

Next get a seal kit or another set of calipers.

Thanks very much, will strip them in the mean time and see if i can get a seal kit.
I would really like to do a brake upgrade, the only problem is I live in the middle of no where in Botswana so parts are quite difficult to come by. Where abouts down south would be the best place to pick up an upgrade brake kit?
