Wiring Problem

Post by MacNello »

Hi Guys - Need a bit of help (S13 200sx)

I've been having a blown fuse problem - but only with the "Interior Light" fuse. It first started with clock messing out and the interior light not working. I've seem to just replace the fuse a few times and it seemed to work. When I finally got a little time on my hands I decided to investigate the problem. Ripping up the carpet and kick panel fuse box, I seem to have found an old alarm system that was wired in - I landed up pulling all the door sensor wires it had and cutting the module. Slapped a new fuse in worked fine until I went to the car wash - half way through the vacuuming(doors and boot open = interior light on) Smoke started to emerge out of my dam kick fuse box- I quickly popped the bonnet and unplugged the battery. After the smoke cleared and things cooled down I took a look and found the "Interior Light" fuse (10A) had completely melted along with it housing(thank fuk it didnt melt the others around it) Iv cleaned it up got the fuse terminal holders back to were they where more or less.

When I ran the volt meter across the fuse terminals to see what amp was running through it I got a constant 2 amp's with all the door sensors closed and dome light and boot light pulled out ? Which doesn't make sense cause it should only work when those things are in use and I doubt the dash clock could be drawing that. Is this normal ?

If some body could please hook me up with a wiring diagram for S13 200sx I would really appreciate it
