Okie here's the thing. I phones around for an exaust system for my s13 ( which is still stock for now ) basically everone I phone for an exuast does it from the downpipe onwards .. I would think that the std downpipe is quite restrictive .. anyone else did the exuast like this ?

It is, but frankly, if you do not put on a larger turbo the gains will be minimal, if you are going to replace the xzorst it is ok to do the down pipe aswell. Just remember...think to the future, if the plan is a bigger turbou waight till that time otherwise you will need to redo the downpipe and that means money wasted.

by downpipe i assume you mean that piece of cast iron in the shape of a elbow type thingymjiggy???

you will get gains if you replace it with a higher flow item, but be careful of getting on designed for the sr20det motor. they do fit, but you will have to mod other bits. like your exhaust.

but oh hang on, you're getting a new one - so it shouldn't be too much of a hassle!

Just be carefull when these bastards say "downpipe'
The downpipe connects the turbo to the exhausts.

i have had monekys put an xhaust system on for me, but didn't do what they said.
For them the downpipe was the extra bit of exhaust that connects to the downpipe. You know the part that bends underneath the car.
bunch of retards.

I eventaually put an s14 downpipe as it doesn't have the kink like the s13, but had to get the flange on the exhaust re-welded to the new position.

Is a 76mm exhaust better for a CA18DET with the standard T2.5 turbo with future plans to get a bigger turbo such as a T3/4 or a T4 in the future? Or will it be better to just fit a 63mm also with future plans to go to a T3/4 or T4???????? :?: :?: :?: :?:

its a turbo you can run it with a 100mm x 100mm pipe it would work fine...

Can't go wrong with a 76mm I did it on my T25 best mod so far!

You can buy prefab exhausts that include the downpipe but expect to pay above R3500... I got me one of these

R3500 small price to pay... me thinks

My exhaust including downpipe, knuckle at turbo backbox, exhaust flex cost R900 (back box) + 750 (75mm) + 550 (Flex).

Your option looks good and won't give hassles as its made for the car.

Where a custom system will give hassles until all problems have been sorted out. Which may come to the same price anyway.

Mine is nice... only bad thing its "drone" range is rather big, between 100-120 so yeah that is cruising speed

sounds like a scooby on idle... underload its sounds just like any of the jap drifters
