Your standard turbo T25 should be coming in arround 3000 to 3500 rpm as it is, simply changing the piping style (50mm diameter and as short as possible) on that one can get it coming in around 2500rpm, and should hold all the way through the rev range
Look into V mount Inter coolers, that should get you what you want with ought the cost of going ball bearing.
I would advise though, if you really want to go bigger turbo but still want to keep lag down, look for a turbo with a T25/T28 settup, with a slightly lower A.R. Exhaust housing than yours currently has, otherwise if you go to low then it can start causing back pressure.
If you would like more info, let me know.

P.S. Your standard turbo can run 0.8 to 0.9 bar boost just fine, just make sure you run a recirculating bov to prevent flutter

Hey there thanks for the advice.
i have a T3 T4 turbo now and am looking for a standard turbo my turbo now only comes in at 4500rpm and i changed the exhaust housing and that bought it back to 4000rpm but by that time the race is finished thats how much lag i got now.and to fit the T3 T4 turbo you had to make an adapter and that keeps giving trouble so i want to go standard again it has just blown yesterday and its a job to take out and put in all the time.
Do you prehaps know where i can get a standard turbo or the turbo you recommened?
Sorry to ask but what do you mean by recirculating bov?
Thanks again for your advice.

Have a look in the Classifieds, things often come up there. I would suggest going to Turbo Direct or some place like that, they could even possibly build you a turbo to spec for your specific requirements.Super Mario Brothers wrote: Do you prehaps know where i can get a standard turbo or the turbo you recommened?
But remember, turbo boost piping is also very important, the shorter and thinner, the less lag u will have.
P.S. What A.R. Exhaust housing have you got on your T3/T4 ?
A Recirculating BOV is eg. the HKS BOV that can be settup to either vent to atmosphere, or back in infront of the turbo. With a standard ECU this is very important to prevent Turbo Flutter (You know that nice high pitched tshew tshew sound you get when the boost backs through the turbo in reverse) This can destroy turbos. It will also prevent over fueling, as this will make your car stutter in initial stage of gear change, will feel like she slightly dips then pulls. This type of BOV is spacifically for cars using MAF sensors, it will keep your lag down without sacrificing much, only thing you will sacrifice, is not having the load dumping sound.Super Mario Brothers wrote: Sorry to ask but what do you mean by recirculating bov?
O and post a Picture of your Motor Settup ?????
Hope this all helps a bit

You have a few options, the local turbo guys like turbo toys and mr turbo can sell you a T28/T3, not a bad turbo at all and a good upgrade from standard....for about R3500-3800 I think..spools up almost the same as standard.
Turbodirect can make you a T28 equivalent to the GT28 series ball bearing turbos...it's a jernal bearing turbo but same spec as the GT series...for around R4500+...for instance....the jernal bearing T28 same spec as GT2871RS will flow enough for 500HP....assuming the rest of the supporting mods are there.

Hi guys
I have managed to find a turbo from a RB25 motor the standard turbo it is a T28 T3 just would like to know if that will be of any use to me?when will the boost kick what rpm?
I have an A/R 46 on my turbo now i think but i had a A/R60 on before but i speak under correction tho.
i have also fitted a dump valve and yes would like to show you all pic but don;t know how to load them?

That turbo should work lovely on a CA, only problem is that it wont fit on your std mani. So you got a mani build, you might have to clock the turbo at which time you might brake the ceramic wheel.Super Mario Brothers wrote:Hi guys

So be careful and choose wisely.

I agree with Rat, should be a nice settup that....... Although I would also agree with Charl on the Ceramic Wheel breaking, I would suggest if you want lots of boost, try keep your pipes as short as possible on this one, also, try do ur pipes in 50mm, no bigger, I do not think the CA will top out on boost with that as a settup.... Should be good, let us know what you decide....rat wrote:he is running a t3/t4 already so should bolt straight on. Minor changes to piping etc.
Imo i think a RB25 turbo on a CA would be an awesome upgrade as the ceramic exhaust wheels spools it up very quick and the compressor side is the same T28 from the SR20

ok went last night to a sx friend and got the T28 T3 it looks beautiful but not to sure its going to fit as the exhaust housing is the wrong way round so that is a bit of a bummer.he also took me for a ride in his standard sx boosting 0.9 and it goes really good so i think i'm going to have to look for a standard turbo.
i'm sure some one out there must have a standard turbo.
