Hey guys. So we got all the spares for Vince's Car, going to rebuild the motor on monday, fit tuesday, hopefully fire on wednesday.
So now I want to know what break in method we should use? whats best?
Other thing, The car needs a tune, Can we give it a basic map to do the break in, or can we tune it on the dyno and break in at the same time? (know the answer to that one, just want to hear your thoughts about that)
Oh and its A CA18, with dictator Freeflow exhoust and large FMIC?

CA18 break in
Power is nothing without control,
Control is not fun without power.
Traction is over rated.

You can break it in on a standard map with those mods for 1000 miles (I think it's around 1600 kms) without going over 4K RPM. Do about 3-4 oil and oil filter changes during this process.
Before you start it check the the engine primes with oil properly (remove turbo oil return to see if oil comes through) before firing it with the fuel pump fuse in.
There are links and that about running an engine in hard but to be honest I'd rather stick to manufacturer recomended running in process which is about the sae soft process as above.

Drive for a few days normal commute (and more at night if possible) doing two oil changes in the time, then take a day off and drive to and from durbs. Then do another oil change and then the rest of the runnning in on a daily drive basis (and at night again if possible), then an oil change just before the drift event should about get you there

I do not suggest it or promote it but someone has posted this link to me once:

You dont have to do 1600 k's mind, it is just to ensure a good running in. So you could cut it shorter, but make sure you do regular oil changes until about 1600.
Especially important to do an oil change after the drift event.
