If I used 100W globe is the ANY chance of them burning out the switch?? I ask this because on cars like the Opels and the old Alfa's you had to run them through relays or they did burn out the switch.

Not just the switch, you'd melt the globe connector too.

But Freddie and Veecee (I think) are both running 100W globes. I know about the switch but never heard about the connector.

I got mine from freddie, so think they are 100W but could be 90W. How long have you had yours for??

Have the guys running high wattage globes ran them continuously for many hours (like on a long drive?) Wouldn't want to find out that your connectors got stuffed up half way to Durban! Also, have you guys inspected the globe connector for damage?

Why would the globe connector get stuffed by using 100W globes?? The only difference is they are flowing more current through them. I suppose they would get a bit hotter but not by much.

Ahem!
The bright beams run through a relay on all modern cars so you should be fine.

HOWEVER make sure you get 55/100w globes as the dims run through the switch and you stand a good chance of melting it if you fit 90/100w globes.
Been there done that paid the school fees

Not sure if the sx has the brights on a relay because I cant find them. Not any of the relay boxes say anything about brights.

My one connector burnt after about a year but it is not that hard to fix, I am using 100w.

I pulled out the FSM and checked the wiring diagrams and they do run through relays even though they are labled as HL RETRACT 3/4.
