Tyres

Post by THEO 3K - ZN »

WHat brand & size tyres are you guys using on the sx's? Are your'll happy with them?

I got 17" 225/45/17 SP racers on the rear.
Now here are my options for the front

Potenzas - 215/40/17 - R2700 maxipriest

Dunflops sport max (import) 215/40/17 - R 1300 Jacks tyres

Firenzas - 215/40/17 - R 850

Hankook 215/40/17 - R 980

Yoko's 215/40/017 - R 1250 Hi Q

Toyo proxes 215/40/17 - R 1350 minty's

Which will work best for street use.

That is because you havent had decent tyres yet, these are utter crap.

Toyo T1R, the Goodyear excellence isnt bad either.

I've had Kumho KU31 215/40/17 on a 7J, tires were good and managed a track day with no problems!
Replaced them with Kumho KU31 235/40/17 on front and Federal 595SS 235/40/17 on the rear, on 9J though!
Wouldn't recommend the 595SS for the front but on the rear it's good!
Nothing bad to report on KU31 at all and read lots of positive reviews of them overseas!

My one touched but then i touched the spring bucket with a hammer and all is well. Not a lot of clearance about a 10mm.

I have 225/45 up front, no spacers and they fit perfectly as far as clearance is concerned. Didnt have to modify anything. Wheels are ET35 so far from great either although I would expect clearance issues running ET40+
