Bonnet

Post by gremlin »

Hey guys. I am in urgent need of a s13 bonnet and front indicator\park lights. Gettting from nissan takes 2 months and costs a packet. Does anyone know where i can get a standard. carbon or fibreglass bonnet. Or maybe get one made. And where I can get front indicator\park lights. I remember Toby posted a thing for clear ones for R500 quite a while ago. Do you still have that contact Toby? Anyone else know where i can get? Preferably with 48 hour delivery.

I found a few places that can make carbon bonnets. But they need a bonnet to make moulds from. Mine is a bit waisted. Anyone willing to lend me one?

mine is available... :D

Find out costs and so forth... then we talk

You get two types of carbon

Dry - Very light - very strong - you stick the mat together over a mold and you bake it in a vacuumed oven - very very expensive - the stuff F1 cars use

Wet - Not much different that your normal fiberglass although it is much stronger since the mat is weaved but its not much lighter than fiberglass believe it or not... the mat is still bonded with resin and that is heavy.

My buddies helped a guy fit a Carbon Creations kit to a RX7 the stuff wasn't that light, I have felt Golf bumbers from Autostyle that is lighter.

Carbon is quite expensive the best i could find is R250 sq M so for a bonnet you need at least 3 / 5 layers and its probally 3 sq at a time... $$$

cool! if you have a mould we can make little bunny wabbit space cookies, or little faeries, or dragons, or puppies, or little pamelas, or for you little hasselhoffs

who has the altezza lights on the back - hennie, was it you?
are your standard ones for sale?

i will also take front indicators and side markers if someone has them.

come on people - the possiblilities are endless (wel, wanna start with small things first - so no big pamelas)
