Perfect Power

Hey guys.

I need some assistance again. I have just fired up my S13 SR20DET after having removed the motor and doing a clean up. I also replaced the head gasket and had the valve stem seals replaced. In the process of doing this I noticed that the intake cam was out 1 tooth , so I corrected that, but here is my dilemma. The car has a Perfect Power XSM-L stand-alone management system. The car is now idling at around 2500 rpm and is spluttering , is this because the system was set up with the intake cam out 1 tooth and now needs to be re-tuned, and if so , who can check this out for me in the Cape Town area?

Thanks

I think you'll have to re-tune. Are you using the cas or a crank pickup?

It has a crank pick-up , which I accidentally destroyed yesterday , and got another this morning. The CAS has been disconnected , the distributor is only in the head to stop the oil from spraying out.

Their is no one in CT to tune perfect power proper. I take my car to dyno tech. My suggestion is to fit gotech or dicktator.

Which you cant really compare to Perfect Power but it is easier to tune so you will find more tuners.

Apart from your car having to be returned the timing belt was out, thus your timing is not what it was, which causes your car to idle high, so as it has been said, a whole retune is requiered.

Thanks guys. I have however requested a coms cable from Perfect Power and I will download the software and in this way I will learn how to tune the car or go bust trying. If all else fails , I will look into a Diktator / Gotech or Nistune system.

I was quoted R70 from Perfect Power , but it must be couriered from Mars or something , because the courier cost is high . If someone has one for me in Cape Town , let me know.

Hey,what can I say .......... when you are thick ....you are thick. I had the Vacuum pipe from the Brake booster on in the wrong spot. Put it where it belongs and the idling is back to where it should be. Now I must just determine the cause of the miss. Plug , plug lead or injector.

I still need the coms cable for the management though please , if anyone has.

I agree , but an afr guage and lambda sensor is very costly
