New SX owner, popped gasket

Post by OutOfMyWay »

Hi everybody,

I picked up my S13 this past Sunday, yesterday i was driving home from work when i noticed the temperature gauge starting to climb, when i switched off the car i heard a hissing sound, upon closer inspection, i found that all the water had sprayed out through a leak in the gasket between the head and the intake manifold, do i just need to get the gasket replaced? if so, who can i take it to?

thanks a lot!

I took a pic of where it's leaking from.

that just looks like a leak from the intake runner and not the block and head so you might just get away from buying a gasket set and replacing the gasket

if it is the block then you need to have the head skimed etc

thanks for the repy,

sorry, about saying it's on the block, i wasn't thinking, it's between the head and the bit that the injectors are in.

if it is between the inlet manifold and the head then you must just get a gasket and fit it yourself, not a very big job :D
