hehe was talking about the rev limiterSilviaS13 wrote:Not speed limiter, rev limiter.
I drove a stock S14 today, and in 1st, 2nd & 3rd gear it limited at 4200rpm?
Is that normall?

well mine didn't hit the limiter and it was sitting at about 6500-7000rpm

i think if you fit the new window the limiter problem will be sorted...this sometimes happens that the ability to rev goes out the window...
tried pg glass or someone like that - i am sure they can even cut the glass for you... should be less than R1000 i think
seriously on the limiting - running after market ecu or stock management?
(i know you said stock - just checking on ecu as well)
chances of using a different stock management/at least someone to look at the timing and fueling maps

Re: QUESTION: 200sx S14
stock limiter around 6950, definitely not normal, sounds like 1 or 2 coilpacks are shot.SilviaS13 wrote:Where does the stock 200sx s14 (sr20) rev limiter come in?

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall, torque is how far you take the wall with you.
use ngk bcpr7es gap to 0.7mm or if thats too cold, go one hotter. should be fine tho.SilviaS13 wrote:hmmm, that sounds like it could be the problem. just spoke to the guy, he says he might have the wrong spark plugs in. Could it be?
What is the correct plug?

the stock ecu is prolly in limp mode, in which case it wont let the engine rev over about 4000 rpm.. meaning something vital is screwed, for example airflow meter ect.
i might be wrong though, dont know the s14 ecu that well ..
edit : i see in the fsm that the limp mode max revs is actually 2400rpm.. but it might still be handy to check for error codes.

s14 (too cheap R49 999??????)
That s14 has been in an accident before and completely resprayed, and very badly, the gaps are out and the colour is not the original pearl white.
Engine bay is very rough , the mileage is also suspect.
Dont think its worth more than R40 000.
So if anyone from far away is interested think twice before making a long trip to see it you will be disappointed.
