you just KNOW i'm gonna gooi more than 2c on this one hehehehe.

I run the PerfectPower XMS as tjooned/installed by the calibrator.

So we running MAP and not MAFS + we got airtemp sensor as well. The car runs very nice, and the system has all the outputs to control the various functions of my car/engine.

Like the VVT, the aircon, the fans, the boost control etc etc.

For what it costs, i am extremely happy :)

Costs wize I would go for what Dislex got...

I run a Wolf 3D... very happy... It has it own bells and whistles, but not anything more than the XMS.

Then with the Wolf there is probally only two people in the country who can probably tune it, The Calibrator and the oke who imports the stuff.

How much do they go for. How is it triggered. Propably with a different trigger plate in the CAS, that's how I would like it. I don't want to go the 60-2 route again.

Those trigger plates are so cheap, I got 2 profiled out of 0.5mm stainless for R18.

yep!

duane made a trigger wheel that sits in the CAS - it's only got one trigger on it - so that he can do full sequential ign. and fueling :)

http://www.perfectpower.com/products/xms.asp

Last i heard he charges round the 9k mark - but that's FULLY installed, with all the bells and whistles. Like the boost controller, the map sensor, temp sensor. And tjooned :)

plus you get a little switch to switch maps (ie. low and highboost)

yup - after talking about it for a while the quote came to about 8 grand with all the extra bits (including coils - to eliminate old dodgy coil on plug system), and tjooned on their dyno, caver's trigger plate, wideband sensor (i think), map sensor, etc, etc.

i'm not sure what caver charges for a dyno chune - but it think peter said its around 750-800 at perfect power.

keep in mind that the above quote didnt include installation - i am perfectly capable of doing that myself!!!

caver/thecalibrator charges quite a premium for tjooning - but i pay it with a smile.

No one else who's done any tjooning on any my cars has done it as thoroughly as he has.

Last time he did a tjoon for me (granted that was still ony my bikirom) he charged 1200 - car performed amazingly!

as for installation, veecee - did you see my install pics? VERY clean!

XMS is really nice. Looks like a very good option. Bit expensive but you get what you pay for. It'll be on my list of choices.

xms

Post by qewrty »

The xms does sound sweet. Mine is being installed sometime this month ;)

I played around with the software, you can custom configure the application on the notebook to show graphs or gauges, so I'm thinking of perma-fitting an old notebook and using a 7" LCD for the screen; could make for a very skyline looking MFD.

Dislex666, did calibrator setup your launch control on xms?
