So its time for my SX to retire into the garage to sleep under a car cover.
So I need a replacement and a Corsa bakkie will do just fine for now. I am keen to drop a 2.0lt into it so am looking for a fixer-uper. If anyone knows of a Bakkie for sale please let me know, old shape hey.
Age and milage means nothing to me .

The old shape? you mean that little pimple with wheals on it?
You should be worried about mileage otherwise you'll be replacing suspension bushes, Brakes and C.V.'s till it comes out your ears.
There is more to a car than just a motor.
Not to mention by the time you've done all the repairs(presuming you'll do a good job.), bought the motor and gearbox(If you know Opel you'd know there is only 2 worth wile setups, Super-boss(2l 16v with 5mm stems+ Shric Cams and 11.5 compression ratio) or the TS setup) and put in the rite support gear you could have bought a good second hand bakkie. And at the end of the day you'll still be sitting with just a corsa?
The way i see it, unless you're a die hard enthusiast, you'd be wasting good time and money.

Yeah the old one, I like the look of these. I really dont mind changing CV joints brakes, bushes etc, I do it most weekends so it is no stress for me.
I have done a 2lt 8v swap before with great success. I am not looking for a street racer but I dont want to drive a sluggish 160is. I wont be racing this thing so stock brakes will be fine.
I think you learn on this forum that I work on cars everyday so I do know what is involved when I plan a project. No need for schooling here but thanks for your efforts .
Why do arguments break out when Gary posts... hmmmm:?
Been thinking the same thing for a while now. I will try not to post on controversial topics anymore...

Humility is a true sign of wisdom.
There's a reason why no one uses the 2l 8v... but i wont try "schooling" you again.
