Tomei Cams - Att PFB
Pinkfluffybunnies, what is the differences between the Tomei Procams and Poncams? Their website does not contailn the best english or description of the differences. Both seem to be available in different lifts and durations.
Which of their cams can be used with hydraulic lifters and which require a change to solid lifters?

Howzit
There are a number of cams on offer from Tomei for the CA18 but there are 3 basic types.
Tomie PonCams 256 8,5mm lift - Can be used on the stock head and valve train, Cams have been degreed by Tomie for best overall response.
Pon's dont have any differant durations or lift
Tomie ProCams 260 8.8mm Lash – Can be used on the stock head but you valve springs will not be happy with the sharp ramp and shut can make a spring fail, Everything I have read says there are the ones you want with GT30 or large frame turbo’s for better spool **Tomei springs recommended*
Tomei ProCams 270 8.8mm Lash - Can be used on the stock head but you valve springs will not be happy with the sharp ramp and shut can make a spring fail, Full drag big boost, big turbo no low down torque
Solid
----------
Tomei ProCams 260 9.5mm SOLID
Tomei ProCams 260 10.5mm SOLID
Tomei ProCams 260 11.5mm SOLID – Need extensive head mods, piston pockets, Valve springs and solid lifters. A lot of money

Tomei ProCams 270 11.5mm SOLID Need extensive head mods, piston pockets, Valve springs and solid lifters. A lot of money
Expect to pay R5700 for any of the above

Tomei has stopped making Solid cams for the CA18 you can still find them but not for long also Lash and PonCam are only made on request until September when they will be discontinued as well this is from Tomei themselves

Hope you have more luck then I did, Billets basically don’t exist because of the spline on the exhaust cam for the CAS and if you getting a set of regrinds make sure they do the hardening process correct or they will wear very fast.

And just one final question, please correct me if I'm wrong.
The "Lash Type" work with the hydraulic lifters whereas the "Solid Type" require solid lifters?
The confusing thing is some of the online shops say that the lash type require solid lifters, but maybe they have their descriptions wrong.
