2JZ GTE S13 swap will cost you this

Post by RBSX »

Hi guys ive been readin that quite a few have been thinking about the cost of the mod,, so here is what it cost me

Im sure with a little shopping around you could find it cheaper, or find parts cheaper

The best thing about the 2jz is that you can order parts through toyota dealerships, just have the part no...

So here We go

2jz motor : R15 000
R154 Box 5 speed: R6000
Flywheel: R2000
Stainless steel Branch: R3100
Mr turbo T72 R5000
60mm Waistgate R1650
Greddy Cam belt : R1100
Prop Shaft Modification: R950
Make Engine mountings and set :R1500
Modify and fabricate hoses for Radiator: R650
Mr turbo Bigger Radiator R2400
2 x 12" fans : R800
Dicktator : R3400
2 x 3 channel coil ignitors: R1700
Walbro R1250
High pressure Fuel lines R650
New copper clutch R2500
76mm Full stainless exhaust with 1 silencer: R2600
Oil cooler R1800
600x300x72 Intercooler with piping R3000
HKs copy Dump valve R950
Silicone Rubbers R950
Boost controller R350
New Oil pump R1650
New Front main Seal R150

And make sure you do the oil pump mod before finishing up

And off course Labour and Bullshit from the tuner

If you lucky 5 months later you will have a car thats still incomplete

Is it worth it.......The one spin i got in it makes me think so

If you have a garage at home do as mush as you can your self:

:D :D

My conversion, cost me R70k plus the Sx which i paid 45k
Thats R 115 000
and i wont even be able to sell if for R100k

My advice

Dont waste your time and money with a Sr20
If you Want to stick to nissan go RB25

Truth is, if i were in your position, I would go 1JZ TT Reason is
those engines are dirt cheap right now

R6000 engine ... after some negotiation
R6000 box....maybe even cheaper
R2000 Flywheel
R1200 Clutch

if your FMIC is bigg and your rediator is fine
get a dicktator, prop shaft mod,
link the exhaust, and slight mods to the FMIC piping
2 x12" fans,

you can be up and running for around another R15k

thats 30k for 200rwkw.... show me a Sr20 that can pull that off

They will make 200rwkw stcck, stock ....reliable
parts are slighly cheaper than the 2jz from toyota dealerships
They can Make 300rwkw on bolt on mods with ease
its also very strong

its lighter than the Rb25
it sounds almost identical to the 2jz

Anway thats my thoughts

As for the conversion,,,,The JZ family will fit, with the ABS unit installed
you just need to move it to the right a little
the Gearbox is Shorter, so you will have to have the leaver bent like an S alittle, works perfectly, you will never think, its bent

yup, this kind of enterprise is not cheap, cost me +/- 75k to stuff a vg30det
into a s13.. and that is doing 98% of the work myself.

plus, accept the fact that you will never recover close to what you spent when you sell the car, and insureing it will be almost impossible.. :?

This is very important to remember when going for big mods. I'm not saying that you shouldn't, just that you should be aware of all the cons as well as all the pros.
Diesel power, hmm, yes, I think I'll have some of that.
