Just a Thought that crossed my mind

when i was thinking i need a light on fuel reliable car

So here the senario you have a complete s13 with no engine and gearbox

But if you were on a budget what would you do

must be N/A .....not turbo engines

1st option must be a 4 cyclinder readily available

2nd option must be 6 cylinder readily available

3rd option must be a 8 cylinder readily available

let see what you come up with

oh and it doesnt have to be nissan engines

Eish donny, tuff one,

4 cylinder - Group A TRD 20V engine (same as in Initial D)

6 cylinder - the 3.2 lump from a Honda NSX

8 cylinder - either the corvette LS1 or a 672 Hemi

editted again, i couldn't read properly today :?

if fuel economy is your MAIN consideration..

4cyl - bmw or volkswagen turbo diesel.. i know my 320d gives between 16 to 22 km/litre, this in a 1.5 ton car..

6cyl - bmw or volkswagen 3l turbo diesel, these have stump pulling torque, try racing one on the move :) the latest version of these 3litre/6cyl/twin turbo diesels puts out 200kw/600 odd nm torque  and they are not much heavier than the 4cyl on juice..

8cyl - difficult.. but needless to say, you will get better consumption with a modern japanese v8 than a american lump.. ive heard the lexus v8 is not to bad on juice if tuned properly..

my 2 cents..

mmmmmmm let's see...

4Cyl - SR20 NEO VVL - Nissan's Vtec motor... and make it do 12000RPM...

6Cyl - VQ35 - just sounds so sweet...

8Cyl - VK56DE - go big or go home... The VK56DE employs a massive 98mm bore and 92mm stroke for a total displacement of 5552cc. This engine makes 315 bhp (234kW) at a low 4900 rpm and more than 500Nm of torque at 3600 rpm. The BEAST will rip anything to shreds including your 19's

The VK56DE you just import from the US...

It has to be Nissan... I don't like mixing manufacturers...

4 Cyl, Honda S2000 motor
6 Cyl, would go for a sweet revving V6, perhaps 350Z engine.

If you've got a real stripped out lightweight SX, you could always try drop in a Hayabusa engine and gearbox, 6 speed sequential, only no reverse.

Try a mitsubishi engine. Maybe the 4B11 Mivec or some honda engine.

Guys he said on BUDGET, fitting Honda motors and shit is a big and expensive job.

Look at something like a SR20VE/DE, VG30/30. I would more than likely fit a SR20 though.

Why not just fit the stock engine??

Ahh, cheap and on a budget, Ford Essex V6, Cressida gearbox

Otherwise try adapt a citi golf engine to the gearbox. :)

Why not the straight 6 L28 with the SU's.

That thing revs revs and revs and sounds so sweet.

or then the Z33 motor(VQ35).

And why not a n/a rotary???
