Bearing Knock SR20

Post by phoenix s14 »

OK so it's official... The SR is very sick and needs a tripple bypass. It is definately a rod knock on one of the cylinders. :(
Gonna see if I can take as many pics as possible while I rebuild the motor like new. :D

Parts list:

- new main and big end bearings.
- new smallend bushes.
- crank cut.
- 0.5 oversize pistons and rings.
- greddy head gasket/STD depending on funds.
- new oil pump.
- block and head acid washed and squeeky clean including oil squirters
- guides checked and replaced where needed.
- all seals and gaskets replaced.

Already new items:
- timing chain, guides and tensioner.
- lifters

Hop-ups:

- cylinderhead gasflow
- all parts balanced.
- complete motor balance.
- new exhaust.
- turbo relocation to clear dipstick.
- flange added to manifold for external wastegate. (to be done later)
- a whole range of sensors fitted for engine monitoring. (also been lying for about 2 months)

Hopefully I win the lotto and I can buy a complete JUN SR20DET motor.
