It is the actuator of the secondary butterflies, that means the engine that has this is a 8 port engine(jap spec)

Well it is one of those topics where you have alot of different opinions, there has been "tests" done by some forum guys somewhere that claims the 4 port flows better and therefore could give more power.....
Aperently the 8 port has better low down torque....
As for drifting use.....more torque down low helps loose traction so it is ok, but in my experience, if there is any delay or problem with the system it delauys your power sticking your nose in the ground and then pulls, this only happens when you change gears.....
My opinion, disconnect it or put on a 4 port head....

The only answer that I can think of is that the japspec manual is not availible on the net where most get theirs.....

Again if you search you will find the answers you want.
Connect a vacuum line to it, it will give you more low down torque. Unfortunately the 8 port head wont flow as much as the 4 port.
All this means is you have an import engine in your car...

Just another tip.....obviously you have a imported motor in your car....make sure your papers show the same number, if not change it to the right engine number....otherwise you might find your car confiscated because of the wrong engine number....
