Some misfire on boost

Post by Vlade »

Well the car was running so great... but you know being an SX it have to let you know every now and than that its still an SX

I've got a misfire intermittently on boost, initially I thought it was because the car is cold... now it happened when the car at operating temp. It sounds like I'm hitting the limiter when the car comes into boost, and that is not gunning it about 50% / 70% throttle...

Haven't checked anything, will check plugs and coils tomorrow afternoon, got a slight suspicion its the fuel pump.

Any ideas what it can be?

haha...

No the misfire seems to be across all cylinders, like I said it sounds like I'm hitting the limiter when the boost comes in...

that depends on how old you are...

as you age your charge time takes way longer while your discharge time happens very quickly!

I think you neglected to mention the backfire. That suggests no spark or overfuelling. Maybe there's a problem with MAF sensor or the fuel map in your wolf ECU?

Doesn't it make a loud bang as you get on boost at full throttle? Or is this now different to the problem you had during the Durban trip?

Hey Vlade, Check your boost pipes from the turbo. If there is a leak then your motor is expecting more air and basically just over fuels and miss fires. I experienced it this weekend.

He runs a MAP sensor so this wont happen.

Have you checked the PLUGS??
