CA18DET RWD engine mounts needed
Hi guys... If anyone has any CA engine mounts I will be willing to buy from you...
Thanx
Thanx

ford 3.0 V6 big mounts
or
jaguar V8 mounts
make sure they the 50mm mounts, and then use a few big washers to space them out another 14mm.
BAM - CA18/SR20 engine mounts for about 50 bucks each!
a bit hillybilly, but it works!

you can make them up with a some polyurethane and a threaded bar, some washers, a couple of bolts and a cup.
i'll find the link - its really easy!
as for the other mounts working. yes they work. a good buddy of mine did that mod - and has been keeping his eye on them for about a year now, and they're fine!

actually it seems the ford ones i got were slightly softer than nismo (although still harder than stock ones). i saw the engine vibrating when it was running on only 3 cylinders!Hotstuff wrote:and it's just as rigid as a pair of Nismo mounts....
i reckon maybe the jag ones are harder!

Awesome okes... Shots for all the advice
You see I'm in JHB so I think I'll try source those Jag or Ford mounts, sounds like a plan. Reason why I need them is because my engine's coming back from a rebuild pretty soon and one of my standard mounts broke in half after taking out the engine
I've been keeping my little jobby on the low-down lately but will definately post an article soon

I have the ford option at the moment - i have only broken about 4 in the 2.5 years I have had this conversion. I don't think the Ford ones are as close to the original nissan mounts dimension wise - rather go for the Jaguar ones - as VC says I also heard they work much better...
200sx CA18DET S13 - forged and flowed
the jag and the ford mounts are both 50mm in diameter, but the ford ones seem a bit softer.
the original mounts are about 64mm so you still have to use washers or something to get the correct height.
