Powdercoat or Autostyle Caliper Paint?

All my calipers are already sandblasted. Should I use the caliper paint they sell at autostyle or just powdercoat?

Only con of powdercoating is I have to remove the seals and pistons etc.

Anyone has experience with the caliper paint on a fresh sandblasted calipers?

i would say powdercoat cos you cant go wrong with the paint and potential heat damage!

but then you have to rebuild the calipers - if you dont have a rebuild kit, then it could turn out costly and time consuming!

so maybe the caliper paint is a better idea - less work. try get the spray type so that it comes out smooth.

my only experience with duplicolour paints is that they are really fantastic!!! top quality!

just use base coat paint that you would normaly paint a car with,did a couple of cars and it works great,provided they are nice and clean.just use a paint brush with some benzine.

The only problem with the Duplicolor product, is that there is a time period that you are not allowed to use the calipers after being coated. According the can I have in front of me it says:"... wait 7 days for paint to cure..."

The finish is only as good as the preparation of the calipers to be painted. A well prepared rattlecan job can look just as styling as a powercoat or ceramic coat job.

Panit = Quick fix(Tried it, works great for a while, then you have to do is all over)

Powder Coating = Top quality(Much more expensive and looks great lasts long loads of work to get them nice)

In my case i'd use high heat paint and do a good job.

powdercoating = much more expensive???

what are you talking about?

powdercoating your calipers will only cost about 20 bucks more than a can of duplicolour caliper spray!??? and that includes sandblasting.

the more expensive bit comes in because you have to rebuild the calipers!

Oh FGS VC!

Thats the whole thing....

Powder Coating = more expensive.(with all the blah blah blah its still more expensive)

Paint = cheaper.

and BTW the paint costs you R50 a can and you can do all 4 calipers with 3 coats....Powder coating R20 a caliper=R80

mmm :roll: :roll: :roll:
