Powerbrake problem
Hey guys,
I got the pro street kit from power brake to replace my disks and pads but I've run into a bit of a problem. The torque member won't fit over the new disks... The new disks are 280mm and the ones that I took off I mesured to be 258mm.
I'm know many people have done this upgrade so what gives?

RB25 S13 - in a perpetual state of broken-ness...
yours is an import model right???
most SA model sx's were the same as the european models and therefore had 280mm discs.
some models were sold in other countries with smaller front discs! these were usually the auto or non-turbo models though!
so its possible.
hahahahahaha - you said torque member!!!
also - what is a torque member?

I did mine myself as well, had no problems with the fitment, except my own stupidity for something, and I'm not exactly a mechanic.
Take some photo's if you can!
and please don't start speaking about how much torque your member has, some people might get offended.

u need too take off the calliper, which hopefully you have done
make sure you push back the piston on the calliper before putting in the pads.
If you have done this I might be miss understanding you, so post pics!!!!!!!!!!
EDIT: Or like vasectomy said, you might have small brake syndrome.

ya so it seems it the small brake syndrome ...
So does anybody know what is different with an sx thaqt suffer from small brakes? Are the brackets that the caliper mounts to different or is the caliper different? What would the best way be to get these to work....

Your haste may have cost you a bit here....
My SX also has the smaller discs - the mountings on the hub are the same but the calipers differ between the 260 and 280mm discs.
The powerbrake kit for 280mm is about R3k and for 260mm about R2500.
So the solution is as follows:
If you've got the cash start looking for the bigger calipers, alternatively find out from powerbrake if you can swop the kit....
If all else fails rip out the angle grinder and switch your torque member into high gear....
