28th June - Kyalami Track Day

Post by Hotstuff »

The BMW and Subaru Car Clubs are hosting a Track Day Event this coming Saturday.

Entrance is free...

It'll be a good idea to go and check out what it's like. Lets make a plan to meet up and hopefully in the near future we could arrange our own Track Day at Kyalami or Zwartkops.

A few members have already confirmed attendance and also it's another oppurtunity to promote the club.

Bring the family, the skottel and the beers if u are not driving home.

Hope to see you there!!!!

Ok... So a few of us where at the Track Day event on Saturday.

Just to give you an idea of the cars that where there...
2 x Noble
2 x Ariel Atom
2 x Lotus Elise
2 x R34 Skyline
1 x R32 Skyline
2 x 350z
2 x Ferrari 430 (1 x Stradalia edition)
1 x Lumina Ute
1 x Ultima GTR
2 x Mitsubishi Evo 9
1 x Z4 Coupe
2 x E90 M3
2 x E46 M3 CSL
3 x E46 M3
4 x E36 M3
a few E30 Shadowlines
a few E36 328's
a few E46 330's
2 x Ford Focus ST
1 x Mazda 3 MPS
1 x Subaru GT
a few Subaru's WRX
1 x Cobra Kit car
Renault Clio Midmount F1 edition
1 x Mini Cooper S (new spec, with JSN body kit)
1 x C-Class Merc with V8 Supercharger setup

... and a few others that I cannot remember...

Now going to an event like this to drive your car as hard as you like in a controlled environement is much better than taking part in an illegal event where people stand a chance of getting hurt, or even worse... killed.

There are various other tracks around here that host these Track Days and I am definitely taking part in the next one.

The SX club will soon be one of the registered ones at Kyalami and Zwartkops and then able to host one of these days too...

We should make a Pakisa track weekend. Accomodation is fairly cheap and it is great fun.

but that yellow evo - hell that was impressive.
