if so, could be a abs-ecu fault.. there is a way to read the fault codes off the abs controller i think (mine has failed before)
yeah sorry forgot to mention that the ABS (Anti-lock) light on the dash stays on. I had to remove the positive off the battery last nite cause it would not stop even after i turned the ignition off.

Tried that a few times while driving home last nite... no change...

if that light on the dash stays on, it can only be electric.. either a wiring fault has occured somewhere, some of the support hardware (sensor ect.)
has failed, or the ecu(abs) itself has failed.. in my case it was the ecu itself that had failed. replacing it cured the problem
Its probably just the relay acting up, when u hear the noise pop the bonnet and listen around the ABS unit, i think theres 2 relays in that black box. Then just hit it, it should stop.
I do remember finding a replacement relay a few years back, but after banging it iv'e never had the problem again and subsequently forgot the part No.

if tapping the relay dont work, time to checkum them error codes..
the abs-ecu is located behind the driver , above the wheelwell.. take the rear side finisher off, after driving at least a minute over 30km/h, keep engine on and running.
