hey guys...

spot the difference from a normal SR20det motor...

the mod helps to reduce parasitic drag on the crank, and allows you to negate the use of a turbo timer is setup correctly...

mmm... is it that chrome box on the right side of the motor???

It looks like some sort of primitive hunting impliment.....

:P

Seriaaaasly the only thing outside a motor that I can think of that would reduce crank drag would probably be some sort of crank vacuum system??? Dunno how it ties in with a turbo timer?

But is it a crank scraper? Knife-edged crank?

It sounds like you're talking about a dry sump setup.

@waterboy - NO!

@sokrap - NO!

@tanaka - NO!!! but you are looking in the right place!!!

@pinkfluff - NO!!! but i reckon if you saw the pic you might get it right.

@Guy - NO!!! but its a similar concept.

@jon - NO!!! thats not a turbo!!!

nope - you guys need to think outside the box a little...

clue 1 - reduce drag on crank

clue 2 - none of the above

clue 3 - it can help to prolong the life of the turbo - similar to a turbo timer, but without the turbo timer - although this only works on certain turbos!!!

clue 4 - its outside the motor - not inside

clue 5 - its something similar to a dry sump setup

clue 6 - that motor is not a twin turbo

anybody???

Can't see the pic properly (too small) but the ali crank pulley def reduce drag.

I can also see the PS has been deleted.

And my final guess is an electric water pump. Which leaves the question why the actual WP is still there. But it often gets left behind just running along on a free ride.

nice DrG!!!

looks like one to me, and i also dont understand why they left the original water pump there!!!

go to this link: http://www.daviescraig.com.au/main/display.asp?pid=47

in the davies craig pages they say that a normal mechanical put out 15-20l/min. the davies craig electric pump puts out 80l/min. the pump draws 6 amps from the system when the car is off. and it can be set to be run for a specific time after the car has been turned off! much safer than leaving your car alone while its running!

here's a pic of the system.

and here's a pic of an open box. the oil cooler fan below is not part of the kit!
