Air-filters

Post by Gary57 »

What airfilter is the best for the sx?? I have a K&N at the moment works well i suppose, only ever had this so cant compare it to anything else.

Do you think there is a vast difference in the filters or are they all much of a muchness??

I'm going back to paper filters those other stuff let dirt through... read this

http://www.max-boost.co.uk/max-boost/intake/intake.htm

I've known this for a long time, my Polo got damaged by either my old BMC or the Simota... And I did wash and oil them regularly...

For me the little bit you gain is not worth stuffing up ones engine in the long run.

well last year sumtime, I read in the speednsound magazine, they did a test of the filters. It was tested on a tiburone & results where taken from a dyno.
Strangley enough, the simota performed the best.

I currently have a simota air filter & she goes nice. The problem with any cone filter is they let in more dirt.
I actually change my oil & oil filter alot regulary compared to before. As soon as I see the oil getting darker, I then change it.

Used to change oil every 7000km, now I change it every 5000km, I have done a change once at 3500km as I took the car to dbn & back again & noticed that the oil getting darker, so didn't want to risk anything.

Ja Simota performed the best because of the least restriction.

what about the BMC CDA? I'm pretty sure that's the best thing you can get re: airfilter

That's a pointless test - i'm sure running no filter might have given even better results!

have you guys ever wondered why the little kids playing and living at rubbish dumps are so tough while our kids that we baby around and use dettol and medicine are so sick all the time?
you bunch are going to spoil your cars and then you'll all sit with sissycars.

make 'em tough and put a handful of sand in the airbox and you can also use sand and broken glass and a couple of beer cans and lost spanners and fishing hooks and old torch batteries and tooth brushes and pantyhose and used condoms to baffle your sump. That oil-gunk aint goin' nowhere around turns

remember chuckpiss?

well, since i dont have anything useful to say i thought i might as well crack a smile on all your ugly faces while you are sitting there either 1)naked in front of your computers or 2) acting as if youre working

i see bandwith in the same light as liquor and sigarettes - we must use it all up so that by the time our kids are big there will be nothing left and they'd be safe from all those evils
