The agents sell a complete arial as well as the insert bit seperatly. They normally don't even know about the 2 options themselves. The Midas version is very noisy and will only last a year. Also the reception is very bad on the cheapy.

I paid R500 to buy the mast from Nissan. Mine (the new one) squeaks loudly when it retracts and sometimes doesn't retract fully. No amount of grease helps it.

My suggestion is to buy a "bee sting" aerial with a booster. Just make sure it's the right type of aerial - it shouldn't stick straight up when fitted - it should lean to the back and to the right.

Guys, go for a indash ariel, no worries, slot a grommit in the hole at the back, as for cheepie ariels they work the same as others, if your radios reception unit is not that good you can change and boost ariels as much as you want, won't help, a booster will only boost the bad reception. I have one of the best radios around but I am sad to say, I can do what I want, my reception is as crap.

I like my electric semi retractible arial. lol
but since i stripped the litle motor and completely cleaned it and only slightly regreased it, it worked 110% until the track on the mast broke.

I wouldnt mind an in dash antenna, but im not realy fond of sticking a grommet in the hole

well mine was broken off at a traffic light (wans't there - wife was driving, otherwise i'd be in jail now) - still no aerial, but i feel the std aerial is too big - too thick and too long, when it is extended it doesn't fit the car.

just get an mp3 player... 1 disk / 300 songs / journey too short

I also dont like the standard aerials on the sx. I got one of those bee stings. I generally have good reception but there are some places where i loose it for a few seconds. But atleast it looks good. And most of the time i watch dvd's or play mp3's anyway. I only use the radio0 in the mornings and when i'm tired of listeming the same crap. I got the mose expensive bee-sting, Something like R120

I dont want any external arial if I can help it. The one on mine is pushed down and doesnt look to shabby. Now I want to fit a desent internal arial, if I can get, that actually works.

Anyone got a rear parcel tray, mine has got 6x9s in it :? ??
