S14 Bikirom ECU with S13 SR20det

Post by veecee »

hey guys,

anyone know if i can use an S14 ECU with a bikirom installed, on my S13 SR20det???

are there any issues that you guys know of?

i'm assuming the s14 VVT programming will have maps suitable only to the S14 motor, but i'm thinking that i would be able to use the bikirom to overcome these issues???

or should i just go get a gotech pro or something?

There are many XMS types available now at reasonable prices. And the GoTech aint much cheaper hey.

AFAIK you can load the Red Top maps on that S14 ECU if it has bikirom. BUT, seeing that your car is not equiped with the OEM redtop wiring etc I think it would be more complicated than getting an EMS in the fist place.

i have the wiring harness from the redtop motor. its missing the AFM and its wires, and the ignitor.

otherwise all of the necessary wires are on the chopped harness i got with the motor.

but then i would have to "rebuild" the other side of the harness!!! it sounds as though i would also need the s14 ECU plug.

not sure if this is a good idea or not!

you want an opinion?

south africa didn't get S13 SR20det
dont you mean you have an S14?
is it green?

(tip on how to tell : the S13 is the pretty car that looks like a sportscar, while the S14 uhhm is hard to describe - its kinda like a cross between an S13 and a wall  )
