I've noticed that on the person(cant remember who sorry) that runs the singel coilpack with the "plugwires" theres no crank angel sensor. How does the ignition timing work with that?
It all works through an aftermarket management system, all or most of our sensors like the CAS and AFM are not used, only with perfect power and some others do they use some of our sensors.
Yes all "piggy back" chips use the sensors because it only increases the limits of the standard ECU, the newest unichip are close to the capebilities of a management system but still uses your ECU and sensors.
Hmmm, I think what you're more than likely asking is how does the ECU know when fire the sparkplugs?
Normally the CAS is ditched for a "hall effect" sensor, they fit a trigger wheel around your main crank pulley with a sensor mounted stationary on the side. There are other ways aswell, some can use the stock CAS but with a custom trigger wheel (I think Vlade is running this)
