Hi people, anyone know were I can source front wheel bearings for my sx, some say they are the same as the Almera fronts but I am not sure as they are FWD. Also need to know who can fix/supply the bush and pin setup on the front callipers as mine rattles over bumps.
Cheers

I always said wheelbearings are around the corner just waiting there to give us uphill [smilie=200sx_shit.gif]

It is coming to all of us very soon one by one and then we need to know how to tackle this.

After my rebuild, something said to me now y got to watch wheelbearings.

I will follow this thread for sure.

i've done hours and hours of searching for an alternative source of 200sx wheelbearings.

unfortunately i've come out of my searches empty handed everytime.

you probably going to have to go to nissan or find an import option. last time i checked the front wheel bearings where about 1200 each, ex vat!

sorry man - but none of the bearing places stock that bearing, or anything similar to it that might work.

I told you so. I was expecting this feedback and thank you to VC who has done some research for us already.

Simple question from Chemcool though: cant these okies be opened and so called repack them???

nope.

they're sealed bearings, and they get destroyed during the removal process.

the new hubs deal is probably the best.

but i dont believe that nissan cant get for us. when i went to get quotes from nissan, no-one told me that they cant get. in fact, nissan said it would be a 24 hour delivery delay!

When I was trying to get the stock SX floor mats the guy said to me; "Parts are becoming so hard to get for these cars (he also owns one) he tried to get a wheel bearing last week and there is none in the country, has to come from Japan."

that doesnt mean they cant get, it means they order from japan, and it takes 21 working days for delivery to RSA.

and they wont charge for ordering from japan - its not your problem that they dont have stock!

but to buy aftermarket hubs is a much better deal i reckon. its about the same price and you get new hubs, new bearings, and a 5 stud conversion!!! much better than just bearings from nissan. remember you still have to press out the old ones and press in the new ones!

I will take my hubs and have them machined to suit a common brand of bearing, will be able to match the ID and then get the OD machined to suit.

yeah thats probably the best bet actually.

if you do it though, i want to take detailed notes, even more detailed pics, and then post an ARTICLE in the article section.

it can go into mods too, but it definitely has to go in ARTICLES.

OK?

ok!
