Meguires polish
Anyone use Meguiar's polish on there sx's??
My sx paint is in good nic for a 15year old car, it has a few scratches and stains that I want to get rid of.
I have a professional polishing machine which I want to use but not sure what to use the polish or how to get rid of these little problems.
Biggest problem is which polish to use.
Anyone got any advice??

I have
I have tried them all and the one I find works the best is a product from Turtle Wax called scratch and swirl remover.
Works like a charm with not too much elbow grease and then you buff to a great finish.
Then follow up with the wax in a green tub ( conttains trilicone)
This is the point where I state I do Not work for them, but am a truely satasfied customer
Turtle waxes are sold by Auto Zone and Spares Link.

I use maguire's and I have to say their trim detailer is the bomb! Works like a charm on any rubber/plastic that needs to look like brand new. I have their polish but haven't used it yet, and the car shampoo works as well as expected. Good products!

Here's my 2cents worth. I spent more polishing my car then actually fixing it.
Meguairs Gold class. Is awesome. It makes the car shine like a beeatch. very very awesome.
It is rubbish for cleaning tho' Doesn't take out scratches & marks & stuff.
Just the shine.
When it comes to actually cleaning, I find that the Shield Paint restorer works the charm.
& it keep it that way, I get a spray called WDA....I think it's called that, will try & get the name.
So the process is simple, one weekend I spend buffing the car with the restorer polish.
Next weekend, I spent buffing the car down with Megaiurs Gold Class, because as mentioned, it shines, doesn't clean.Use the detailing cloths only.
Ater buffing & shining, I then spray the car with this WDA stuff, which adds to the shine but also repels the dirt & dust.
Never used the car on the weekdays, so just covered it up....yes although it was undercover it still had a cover.
Took me a total of 3 days to wash my car. One day for outside. One day for inside & the third day for detailing. Shine engine pipes etc.
Silicon based spray works a charm for the plastics & rubber.
Also cleaning the motor, I used a pink solution I bought from the car washing garage....no idea on name, just called it pink stuff.
okay, I'm done.

If your cars paint is non metalic, you can use Wynns Revive, around R30 per bottle. Removed the top layer of grime and any small scratches. Be carefull, it is a rubbing compund, so go easy around places where the piant is thin. 1 application and a slight rub once or twice normally is enough. Wash/rinse properly and use good quality polish to seal the paint again. Much easier than a buff which normally damages the rubber parts round the windows etc.

I have used all the manufacturers from Meguiars;Holts;Turtle wax;and even that realy expensive stuff which they use on on the Queens Rolls, I think its called Auto Glim or something.Gary57 wrote:Have you used the Meguires products??
Turtle waxes product are really good and well priced like I said the scratch and swirl remover is what you should get first and try it out
there is even the platinum series of stuff which is reall top stuff but yes try it.
Ohh and yes I walk out of the store with at least a grand's worth car care product at a time.
I was thinking of doing the Quik Clay Detailing System, then Deep Crystal Polish, then Deep Crystal Carnauba Wax.
Should I rather do the Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner, which is step 1 in the Deep crystel system or use the Quik Clay Detailing System?? I have real good things about the Clay so might do a better job than the paint cleaner.
The Deep Crystal Polish is a pure polish specially formulated for dark-coloured cars do you think it will still work well on a white car??

Hi...
this is something that I know a Leeeetttle about
we do this on a weekend basis, and this was what my sabre came out like...trust me, its not a simple task, and we recently did a S3 that took us almost 10 hours...
deep scratches are hradly ever removed, but swirls and that, get removed and the car looks brilliant. I've done my car about 4 months ago now, and the shine is still as brilliant and deep, and you can still see colour in the reflections
@Gary - if you're going to use the deep crystal, I would wash the car, then clay, then DC(Deep Crystal) 1, which is the cleaner, then DC2 and wax. We use the products from teh Meguiars professional range which all need to be applied by machine. the DC system is for hand use.
Here's some before images...
from this angle, car doesn;t look bad..
now she get exposed
After pics.
sorry for overdoing it with the pics...
