rezlo - how about the koni coilovers that are available here in SA now, through Koni SA???Rezlo wrote:Actualy I dont sell D2 anymore.
Jon, those koni set up's are pretty good, I went from Pensky to koni in my chrysler and loved them, cost effective, adjustable and reliable.

Honestly, if your going to go past shock&spring combo for performance I would not suggest a kit like the above, especialy if you run your car on the street, spring pre-load is vital to setting a car up to have nice comfort yet good performance, with those you can not, also removing them every time to set them becomes a huge hastle, took be 3 weeks messing about with my dampers every day to get them 100% for street, If i had to remove them every time I would have gone nuts! Always try get somthing that externaly adjustable and has ride height and spring load separated.veecee wrote:rezlo - how about the koni coilovers that are available here in SA now, through Koni SA???Rezlo wrote:Actualy I dont sell D2 anymore.

they height adjustable coilovers, are valved for the particular type of driving the owner wants, and the damper can be adjusted hard and soft (although its by removing the damper, not with a convenient knob on top).
those kits for the s13 retail for less than 7 grand.
What do you suggest for road/occasional track use?Rezlo wrote:Honestly, if your going to go past shock&spring combo for performance I would not suggest a kit like the above, especialy if you run your car on the street, spring pre-load is vital to setting a car up to have nice comfort yet good performance, with those you can not, also removing them every time to set them becomes a huge hastle, took be 3 weeks messing about with my dampers every day to get them 100% for street, If i had to remove them every time I would have gone nuts! There are a few cheaper coil overs that give you top end name brand quality and this type of functunality without the pricetag, Megan, D2, K-sport and one or two others, Most will slander them, the majority of those have never experienced them and just go on rumour. I have been in many S14's with HKS's, Tein's, apexi, ectr and I still recon D2 and K-sport take the cake in drivability and reliability, No coil over will last on public streets, so why pay the added $$$ for somthing that will wear out, normaly within 10% of the service life of units double to tripple the price?. Ohh and try having a tein or HKS coil over re-built in SAas a few people are finding out with leaking and worn out units that have not even been in their cars for 40 000km's and cost R14k +
Just my 2c.
KYB AGX shocks and decent springs, my personal fav are tein S.tech or BG's
