LOL, a little. I do mostly drags so I don't use it really and the pump's in the way, but I don't want to bypass the pump, then it'll be like erhhmmm, a bit HEAVY.

i rebuilt my car, so when it came to deciding to put on the power steering pump, i procrastinated... until today. Thus i am driving around without a pump with the original rack. funny thing is it only becomes a hassle when you want to park. Other than that, no problem. You do get stronger though... I think that a picture of my arm before I started driving the SX...

only problem I heard is the rack wear out earlier by doing that. I'm removing my engine soon then I'll take it to a local breaker and compare it to other non assited ones.

Is it because of lubrication or other stress related factors? I don't understand will it be because of the assistance the power steering pump provides.

The 2L Sabre came out with a nice 2.9 lock to lock p/s. Normal is around 3.5. Very nippy drive.

hey hennie

i'm not sure if it helps but the sentra/sabre's (i think its 96 on) have exactly the same steering racks as our cars.

i've done the comparison at a scrapper, and they looked exactly the same, even the mounting hardware! thats how i found out i can use the tie rods and ends from that FWD nissan for my s13!!!

now all we need to do is find out if they had a non power-assisted rack that was similar! you'll probably find these in the smaller engined cars like the 1.4 or 1.6!
